Greetings from Herron Island

We wish you a very prosperous New Year!  Herron Island is very quiet this time of year.  Our snow birds have left for the winter and our weekenders are not coming out to the Island as much.  Winter is very slow but still offers wonderful beach walking and bird watching.  The deer will eat out of your hand as was the case yesterday.  The doe came right up to me and I gave her a muffin that I had.  She looked like she was smiling when was eating it.  There are so many things to do inside as well.  The fire in the woodstove, some soft jazz playing and your feet up and looking out at the snow capped Olympic Mountains.  Grab a good book and have a great winter time out.

Have yourself a quiet and safe winter, I’ll be in touch.

July 4th on Herron Island

Ξ July 11th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Uncategorized |

4th of July weekend on the Island was great. Lots of boaters enjoying the wonderful weather and view of the mountains.  A cruise at sunset was beautiful.  The parade saw children with their bikes decorated, 4 wheels, golf carts, classic cars, decorated vehicles, and much more.  Children and adults both enjoyed taking a few hours to decorate and show their creativity.  The fire works at the North Beach were great. Old and young alike showed their excitement.  In all, everyone living or visiting the island seemed to have a wonderful weekend.
